   A Heartfelt Passion

The exhibition “A Heartfelt Passion” consists of Calligraphy Collection of Sevgi Gönül, the Chairperson of the Sadberk Hanım Museum’s Board of Executives who sadly passed away in 2003.


Sevgi Gönül, who had an eye for arts and had a very fine taste, started collecting works of calligraphy as early as 1983 and built one of the richest calligraphy collections of Turkey and after she passed away, in accordance with her legacy her collection was transferred to Sadberk Hanım Museum. To honour her memory, her nephew Ömer M. Koç, who took over the Chair of the Board of Executives, arranged a special exhibition, entitled: “A Heartfelt Passion”, to introduce her collection to art lovers.


The collection consists of 151 pieces and the distinguished examples of the Ottoman art of calligraphy exhibition was open to visits open until 25 July 2004.
